We would like minor illness and/or minor injuries qualifications, but training for these will be offered to the right candidate. We need significant A&E skills including suturing, plastering, complex dressings and x-ray interpretation, and in assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment of patients. Together with partners Turning Point, NHS Dentist and Terrence Higgins Trust, Greenbrook is opening a ground-breaking new Health & Wellbeing Centre in Earl’s Court, London. The centre will open in December 2011 and will include a full GP practice, dental surgery, sexual health clinic and social support services within a community hub.

Are you an experienced healthcare receptionist? Do you have outstanding communication skills and a talent for interacting with patients? And are you keen to develop your career as part of a major new health and wellbeing initiative in London?

Join our team of Navigators, and you will act as the first point of contact for patients and staff to the Centre. However this is anything but a traditional receptionist’s role. You will actively engage with our patients on a one-to-one basis, establishing their healthcare needs and then signposting them to the most appropriate service. In some instances, these services may be outside of our provision, and so you will also act as the interface between the Centre and local community groups. As you would expect, the role also involves providing key administrative support to the medical, dentistry, sexual health and management team.

If you’re right for this job you’ll know it. An experienced receptionist or customer service professional, you thrive in a person-centred environment where you are able to establish rapport with clients and build positive relationships with hard to reach groups. Together with excellent communication, IT and clerical skills, you will be flexible and collaborative in your approach to work, as well as calm and responsive in what can be a changing and demanding environment.

The Centre will be open from 7.30am – 8pm Monday to Friday and Saturday 9am – 12 noon and we are looking for full and part time Navigators to work as part of a shift pattern on a rota basis. As full training will be provided we are looking for individuals who are able to join us by early December.

As a self-employed Bank GP you will receive a dedicated induction and will be invited to our regular education sessions.

Innovative Health & Wellbeing Centre in Earl’s Court

Experienced GPs required for this new centre opening in state-of-the-art premises in Autumn 2011. The service brings together Turning Point, Greenbrook, Terrence Higgins Trust and NHS Dentist to offer a set of integrated services including GP, dental, sexual health and social value services within a community hub.

GPs will provide standard and enhanced NHS GP services for a list of registered patients, with a limited walk-in service for unregistered patients. These permanent GP posts will provide an exciting opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team offering fully integrated primary care and social value services (e.g. employment support, mentoring for patients with long term conditions etc).

When to get vaccinated?

We recommend visiting a travel clinic 5 to 8 weeks before departure, as some vaccines take more time than others to become effective. It is also good practice to research which diseases are ripe in your destination 3 months prior to departure. The clinicians at our travel clinic can offer advice on which vaccines are necessary and when they should be administered.
